Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our devices, Phantom Protocol, and how we work.

What is GrapheneOS?

GrapheneOS is an open-source, privacy-and-security-focused mobile operating system for Google Pixel devices. It removes all Google tracking infrastructure, adds hardened memory allocation, verified boot, and gives you granular control over every app permission.

GrapheneOS reports over 300,000 active users, including journalists, legal professionals, security researchers, and privacy-conscious individuals worldwide. All of our devices ship with the latest stable GrapheneOS build.

Will banking apps and everyday apps still work?

Yes. GrapheneOS includes a sandboxed Google Play Services environment that allows apps like CommBank, ANZ, Westpac, NAB, Uber, Google Maps, and MyGov to function normally — while keeping them strictly isolated from your personal data and each other.

The sandbox approach means the apps work but cannot access your real device identifier, location when not in use, or other personal data they would normally harvest. We verify app compatibility for all major Australian banking and government apps before shipping.

What is Phantom Protocol?

Phantom Protocol is our in-house emergency data protection system. Every device we build ships with it configured and armed. It includes:

  • Remote erase — securely wipe all data from anywhere.
  • Emergency PIN — a secondary PIN that triggers protective lockdown while appearing to unlock normally.
  • Decoy profiles — a convincing secondary profile holding minimal data.
  • Hardware sensor toggles — hardware-level control of camera, mic, Bluetooth, and GPS.
  • Auto-reboot timer — the device reboots if left unused, forcing full authentication.
  • Rapid lockdown — one gesture locks everything down.

All features are completely legal in Australia and internationally.

What is included with every device?

Every Privacy Devices order includes:

  • GrapheneOS — latest build, bootloader relocked
  • Phantom Protocol — configured and armed
  • Threema licence — paid ID included, Swiss-hosted encrypted messaging
  • Mullvad VPN — 12-month paid subscription, pre-configured, no logs
  • Global data eSIM — 170+ countries, 12 months included
  • Local Australian SIM — pre-configured for calls, texts, and data
  • Multiple user profiles — isolated work, personal, and secure comms environments
  • 24/7 encrypted-channel support for clients — WhatsApp, Signal, Threema
  • 14-day money-back guarantee & 12-month hardware warranty
Do you accept cryptocurrency?

Yes. We accept Bitcoin (BTC) and Lightning via our self-hosted BTCPay Server. Lightning settles instantly and keeps your payment private.

You can also pay with Visa, Mastercard, or Amex via Stripe. All payment options are available at checkout.

Is a de-Googled phone legal in Australia?

Completely legal. These are standard Google Pixel devices running open-source software. You own the hardware and have the right to install whatever operating system you choose. There is no modification of baseband firmware or any illegal activity involved.

Privacy is a fundamental right under Australian law. Using software that protects your personal data is encouraged, not prohibited.

What does the 12-month warranty cover and how do I claim?

Every device comes with a 12-month hardware warranty. It covers manufacturing defects, hardware failures, and any issues not caused by physical damage or misuse.

How to claim: Contact us via WhatsApp, Signal, or email with a description of the issue. Most hardware issues are diagnosed and resolved remotely within 24 hours. If the device needs to be returned, we cover return postage and dispatch a replacement or repaired device at no cost. There is no warranty registration required — your order number is all we need.

The warranty does not cover water damage, cracked screens, or damage from drops. For those situations, we’ll still provide assistance and can often source parts at cost. If something goes wrong, just reach out — we look after our customers.

Can I migrate from iPhone?

Absolutely. Our team personally guides every customer through the migration process: contacts, photos, notes, two-factor authentication apps, iMessage deregistration, and app equivalents for whatever you used on iPhone.

Most clients are comfortable and fully operational within a week. We stay available for questions as long as needed after setup — there is no support cutoff.

Do you offer enterprise or bulk orders?

Yes. We configure teams of 5 to 500 devices with consistent, policy-defined security settings. Enterprise orders include:

• Standardised build across all devices
• Secure onboarding documentation
• Ongoing support contracts with SLA options
• Dedicated account management
• Compliance documentation for audits

Contact us via WhatsApp or email to discuss your team's requirements.

How long does it take and where do you ship?

Build time: 1–3 business days for configuration and testing.

Australian shipping: Express Post — typically 1–3 business days Australia-wide. Same-day dispatch for already-configured orders placed before 2pm AEST.

International: Available to 170+ countries via tracked international courier. Typical delivery 5–12 business days depending on destination. Discreet packaging available on request.

What if I'm not satisfied?

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of delivery. If you change your mind, contact us within 14 days for a full refund of the device price — the device must be returned in original condition with all accessories. This is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. See our refund policy for full details.

Every device is hand-prepared, verified, and backed by a 12-month hardware warranty — we stand behind what we build.

What data do you collect when I order?

Only what's required to fulfil your order: name, shipping address, email, and payment details (processed securely via Stripe — we never store card numbers). Order data is retained for standard accounting compliance periods and not shared with third parties.

If you pay with Bitcoin and request delivery to a PO box, you can order with minimal personal information. Contact us to discuss.

Which device should I buy?

All devices run identical GrapheneOS hardening and Phantom Protocol — the security layer is the same across every model. Choose based on hardware:

Pixel 9A — Most accessible price. Single camera, excellent battery, full security layer.
Pixel 10 — Best everyday balance. Current Tensor G5, dual camera.
Pixel 10 Pro — Most popular. Triple camera, LTPO adaptive display, 5000 mAh.
Pixel 10 Pro XL — Maximum display at 6.8". For heavy users.
Pixel 10 Fold — Dual-screen workspace. For executives who work in documents on the move.

If unsure, start with the Pixel 10 Pro. Message us and we'll help match the right device to your use case.

Is this just a phone with custom software, or something more?

It's a prepared security posture. The hardware is a Google Pixel — but it arrives provisioned, compartmentalised, and verified. Every device includes Phantom Protocol (duress PIN, remote wipe, decoy profiles), Mullvad VPN pre-configured with always-on kill switch, Threema with a paid ID ready to use, a global eSIM active in 170+ countries, and multiple isolated profiles already set up.

You don't configure anything. You power it on and it works. That preparation is what you're buying.

What payment methods are accepted?
  • Stripe — Visa, Mastercard, Amex. Processed securely; we never see your card details.
  • Bitcoin (BTC) — via our self-hosted BTCPay Server. Pay with Lightning for instant settlement.
  • Discreet orders — Bitcoin + PO box delivery available. Contact us before ordering to arrange.
How does the device work when travelling internationally?

Every device ships with a global eSIM covering 170+ countries, pre-activated. You land, you have data. No SIM swaps, no unlocking, no dealing with local carriers.

Mullvad VPN is pre-configured as always-on, so your traffic is encrypted from the moment you connect to any network — hotel Wi-Fi, airport lounges, conference centres. Phantom Protocol's rapid lockdown mode is a single gesture if you're moving through a border crossing.

What should I do at a border crossing?

Activate Rapid Lockdown before you approach — one gesture puts the device into a state requiring full authentication to unlock. If asked to unlock the device at a border, you can provide the decoy PIN which presents a clean secondary profile with minimal data.

Under Australian law, you are not compelled to provide your device PIN at the border. Read our border crossing guide for the legal framework in detail.

Does Mullvad VPN work on every network?

Yes. Mullvad uses WireGuard protocol, which works on virtually any network that allows UDP. It is pre-configured with a kill switch — if the VPN drops, your data stops. No leaked connections.

For networks that block VPN (some corporate or hotel firewalls), Mullvad's obfuscation mode makes the connection appear as standard HTTPS traffic.

How does fleet deployment work?

We build a standardised configuration that reflects your organisation's security requirements, then provision every device to that exact spec. Consistent build across the fleet — every device arrives identical.

Fleet orders include standardised onboarding documentation, secure handover procedures, and an ongoing support contract. We handle everything from 5 to 500 devices.

Do you offer ongoing support contracts for organisations?

Yes. Support contracts include SLA-backed response times, remote troubleshooting, re-flashing coverage, and dedicated account management. Pricing is based on fleet size and required response SLA.

Contact us to discuss your organisation's requirements. We support teams across legal, finance, security, media, and government sectors.

Can you match our organisation's existing security policy?

Yes. We build to your specification. If your organisation has existing device policies (specific VPN providers, MDM requirements, app whitelists), we incorporate them into the build. If you're starting from scratch, we propose a policy baseline based on your risk profile.

All fleet orders include compliance documentation suitable for security audits.
